In the event that Living Shores announces a closure due to weather or other circumstances, we will reach out to guests who have already purchased tickets via email to assist with a refund or a date change. Be sure to check the email address used to make your purchase.
Living Shores Aquarium follows the local school district SAU 9 for all weekday-related closures. When SAU 9 closes, Living Shores Aquarium will also close. Living Shores Aquarium will operate on all Saturdays and Sundays plus all school and holiday vacation weeks, unless extreme weather causes hazardous conditions for our team members and guests. All closures will be announced in our social stories.
Manual wheelchairs are available for rent on a first come, first serve basis. At this time ECVs are not available, but personal wheelchairs are accommodated and our facility is ADA compliant.
Living Shores Aquarium can be enjoyed by all ages and groups! Many exhibits and interactive elements are best suited for children between the ages of 2 and 12. However, all ages are warmly welcomed as many of our exhibits are enjoyable for all.
Yes, seasonal pet kennels are available for use FREE of charge on a first come, first served basis. Kennels are available for use by Living Shores guests Memorial Day - Labor Day while Story Land is in operation. Please remember, our kennels are self-service, owners are responsible for the well-being of their pets. Reservations are not available for pet kennels. They may be found next to the train depot in the north end of our main parking lot. We have 26 kennels (16 square feet with roofs) with individual pad locks to ensure the safety of your pet. Water bowls are available for use, but we recommend bringing the items your pet needs to be comfortable. To check in your pet, visit the kennels, pick the one you would like and visit Yum Yum Junction (simply ring the doorbell) where you will be given your code.
Living Shores busiest days typically fall on Saturdays, peak summer months, and during vacation weeks. The best times to visit are Mondays and Fridays during September through May, or during the afternoons year round. Please note, bad weather days are likely to bring large crowds and entrance is not guaranteed.
Strollers, wagons and all other carts are not recommended on the exhibit floor. Strollers cannot be parked on the exhibit floor and must be attended at all times. If needed, small umbrella strollers are best.
Outside food and drinks are not permitted. In general, food and eating are prohibited from the exhibit floor.
To leave and re-enter Living Shores Aquarium on the same day is not permitted. Trips to the bathroom and lockers are, however, always permitted; simply exit through the retail shop for re-entry guidelines.
Stingray feedings happen on a timed schedule through the day with limited capacity each hour to maintain a healthy balance of food for our residents. When you purchase a timed feeding, you can redeem your feedings anytime during that hour. They are first come, first serve, based on availability so booking in advance guarantees availability.
Animals of any kind (e.g., dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, lizards, snakes, pigs, hamsters, turtles, birds, tarantulas, rats, mice, monkeys, ferrets, mini-horses, etc.) are not allowed in the aquarium, except for legally-defined service dogs or as may otherwise be required by law to assist those with disabilities (“disabilities” being defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act or other applicable laws). If you claim to have a legally-qualifying “service dog” you will be required to verify its legitimacy, pursuant to applicable legal requirements which are then in effect. A “service animal” is defined by law, and not by a person’s personal desires. For example, a “companion” animal, or an animal that brings “emotional comfort,” or a dog which serves as “personal security,” does not qualify as a legal “service animal.”
